Problem :
Across a single province in Indonesia, around 200 villages had little to no digital presence — leaving their tourism potential and local identity largely invisible to the wider public. Without dedicated websites, these villages had no clear way to promote what made them unique or to attract visitors who might never otherwise discover them. Project Disti, an initiative by PT Laffa Kita Berjaya, set out to close this gap: giving each village its own online home to showcase its highlights and open the door to tourism and broader recognition.

Solution :
The project's answer was to design an individual website for each village, built to promote local tourism while keeping the experience simple and accessible for a broad range of users. Working as the UI/UX Designer, I began with research to understand the diverse needs of each village and to identify which elements could be standardized without erasing each village's individuality. Given the scale and timeline, I adopted a single-page application (SPA) approach — a format that puts each village's key highlights front and center, presenting essential information clearly and drawing visitors in without unnecessary complexity. This decision streamlined both design and development while making sure the core message of every village came through effectively.

Challenge :
The defining challenge of this project was the sheer volume set against a very tight timeline: designing roughly 150 village websites in just around a month and a half. On top of that, the design style had to align seamlessly with an existing application design, which added another layer of complexity to the work.
Rather than a setback, this became an opportunity to sharpen my process. I focused heavily on optimizing workflows to maximize efficiency without compromising quality, working closely with the development team and keeping communication with stakeholders clear so that everyone stayed aligned on objectives and expectations. Balancing quality against speed at this scale demanded a real mix of creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving.
Summary :
I successfully delivered around 150 village website designs within the roughly month-and-a-half timeframe. Since I wasn't directly involved in the implementation phase, I took the initiative to evaluate the outcomes independently — conducting interviews and usability testing with several colleagues during post-production. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with particular praise for the flow, the clarity of information, and the overall interface design. For me, Project Disti stands as a testament to the impact of thoughtful design in bridging the digital divide and empowering communities — a genuinely rewarding contribution to a project of this scale and significance.
